Don't build your brand; build your reputation

I don't care for the idea of people having brands and being brands. People are not brands. People are people!

Looking past the label, though, there is something valuable here. In part brands are about reputation and qualities. And when it comes to people, what qualities do you want to be known for? What qualities are you known for? What's your reputation?

If your reputation doesn't include the qualities you want it to have, then it's up to you to change that. It's in your ability and it's in your power.
